About Our City

Tas-Sliema is a city and resort located between St. Julian’s and Gzira.

Originally, Tas-Sliema, which means “of peace”, was a quiet fishing village on the Peninsula Tigne. With population growth, it was declared a parish and in recent decades has become a place of intensive development. Tas-Sliema, along with neighbouring St. Julian’s is the most developed city of Malta.

Today Tas-Sliema is one of the main coastal resorts of Malta. Surrounded by the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, it is a large residential and commercial area and it houses a number of shopping centres, restaurants and cafes.
